CLASS FAQ’s
What to expect in an Iyengar Yoga class?
Class starts with a few moments of quiet preparation, followed by some poses to warm up the body. For beginners, standing postures are often the main focus initially to build strength, body awareness & alignment. Classes will then incorporate either forward bends, backbends, seated poses, twists, inversions or restorative postures. This all works as preparation for relaxation & pranayama or breath control. All classes end with a period of relaxation.
Props, such as blocks, bricks, blankets, chairs and belts, are frequently used within Iyengar Yoga. These help assist the work in the pose or support those with less strength or flexibility and help access and open tight areas or focus.
Can anyone practise yoga?
Yoga is for everyone, so men, women and children of all ages and ability can practice yoga. All Iyengar yoga teachers are highly trained and can provide guidance in postures where there are difficulties and can give alternative methods if appropriate.
What to wear?
Bare feet for class and comfy clothes should be worn to class like a t-shirt with leggings or shorts.

Make sure you let me know before attending class of any injuries or health issues for example post-operative conditions, hyperextension, heart problems, high or low blood pressure, back, neck or knee problems you feel I should be aware of.
